New site, fresh start

“The work needs to get out of your head and on to the table, and it needs to be done from the heart.”

Paula Scher

Thanks for taking the time to check out my new site! This is the third portfolio site I’ve built for myself as a freelancer and the first that isn’t for my studio, loka.co.

I’ve been freelancing for eight years, and I’m pretty stoked for a fresh start. Building this site pushed me to use JavaScript and CSS animation in new ways, change how I view my design process and discover new approaches for talking about my work. I was trained as a graphic designer, but I built my first GeoCities site back in the mid-’90s (I was really young) and never really stopped making websites for fun.

In all, this current site was built using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, WordPress, Brackets, Cyberduck, Canon, a 13” Macbook, Spotify daily mixes and massive amounts of coffee, time and space. I plan to keep the journal updated as a way to stay focused on writing about design, taking better photos…and probably some other adjacent things.

Feel free to click around the site and check out my bio, the branding projects I’ve been working on and the places I’ve been hanging out. Or say hello!
